having your own voice

Saturday, July 7, 2012

The writer's voice is honed over time.  The rhythms, the point of view, the breaks between things, the bridging.  It emerges from genuine passions and genuine fears, not borrowed ones.  It is emboldened by the thoughts the writer actually has, as opposed to the ones he feels he should have.

Its authenticity is its greatest power.

It changes with the seasons.

I love this. I started my writing journey two years ago. I am a toddler on this road. I started a blog to find a comfortable rhythm in my voice, bridge the gaps, discover my thoughts. I began the blog in October 2011 and since then, I have leapt mountains of understanding about what I have to say.

This is an excellent discription.
