Reverting to Poetry

Tuesday, October 16, 2007

So I found this and I loved this, and I had to share it:

"Give over to the heavy lifting of the real freight of your soul. Take your pictures. Just for yourself, take them. That's how everything turns to silence, how history passes through your heart, how the world reverts to poetry."

Patricia Hampl, The Florist's Daughter

Hi Beth,
Thanks for your wonderful comment on my blog! I actually just posted a contest for a copy of Undercover in celebration of your starred review in Publishers Weekly. I'd love to chat with you more about Undercover & your upcoming books...maybe even do an author interview for my blog if you're interested. Feel free to email me at emsbookshelf@gmail.com anytime.
Cheers,
-Em
p.s. I liked your post on trains. I don't travel much on trains but I've experienced the same thing at airports. :-)

Here's the link to my contest post: http://emsbookshelf.blogspot.com/2007/10/starred-review-and-contest-to-win.html

Em,

You don't know how much this note means to me. Every book finds it readers, one by one. UNDERCOVER is lucky to have found you.

Looking forward to our email conversation.

Beth
p.s. On a plane last week I sat beside one of the endzone cameramen for the NFL. Couldn't have had a more interesting conversation. Planes work, too.
