She (my muse)

Friday, December 19, 2008

I found her in La Jolla. They mummy wrapped her, sent her home. She stands guard, as you have now seen—with me, above me, near me, as muses must, especially on days like these, when all the skies will offer up is rain one single degree above freezing.

Snow would have been better. (Much.)

Love your muse. I hope you stay warm and dry today. Our New England snowstorm started a couple of hours ago--it'll be interesting to see if we get the predicted foot of snow.

By the way, "quakebuttock" cracks me up. Thanks for this new word and a fun book to check out.

Have a great weekend!

There is something so majestic, yet gentle and vulnerable about the giraffe. I'm drawn to them, so I'm quite jealous of your muse.

I visited the Wildlife Park outside San Diego once, and had one eating out of my hand (literally). Great fun :)

Just lovely! We had snow and fog yesterday and now it is sunny and the snow is gone.

Vivian, how cometh the snow where you are? Here the brutal rains have stopped (for a half a second) and it's black and wet out there.

You're not a quakbuttock are you?

Becca, you had this gorgeous, graceful, long-necked muse bending its head toward your hand? I'm in awe.

Lenore, guess why it's sunny where you are now. Here's the answer, in case you are stumped: Because you are there now.

So cool. When I saw it in the last picture, I asked myself, "Why don't we have anything like that in this home?"

We have plenty of snow to share with everyone. The airport north of us had to shut down yesterday, which left many a traveler stranded.

What a great picture! And ditto that on your new profile picture! They're both great!

Sherry, we are getting a little snow here now. Just a little. Did you send it our way?

And PJ, I thank you.

(Thank you.)
