Literary Pollination (at last)

Sunday, July 19, 2009

I was on word 27,503 of the new novel. I was sitting outside and the breeze was fingering back the pages of my torn-from, sat-on, crumpled-into, water-marked Staples pad, and the Casablanca lilies were in full odoriferous bloom.

I had a novel problem I hadn't been able to solve. I was wondering if I could.

That was yesterday.

Oh my gosh, I am so going to track down some bees and hang around!

And congratulations on all the wonderful things I've been reading about Nothing but Ghosts, which I look forward to reading soon. -- Jeannine Atkins

Beth, there is nothing novel about having a novel problem (I couldn't resist) but your way of solving it is divine. Love the imagery- odoriferous Casablanca lilies in bloom.

Btw I'm still waiting for my copy of your NBG book. Mail delivery can be so slow in Puerto Rico. <3

I trust you solved it. And if not, what a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

Are you linear? Just wondering. Do you solve one problem after the other after the other? Or do you dive?

I dive
and then I thrash. Probably my problem.

I'm so glad that it worked out and I love the idea of literary pollination! :)

Yesterday was good.

Erin, my dear. I am linear and I thrash. It's possible to be both, I'm afraid.

Cynthia, you are waiting, at least, in a paradise place.

Jeannine, Em, Sherry: thank you.
