On the eve of the inaugural Lore Kephart Distinguished Historians Lecture Series program, my mother came to me in a dream. We were walking, down. To either side of us the view was green. There was an alter at the bottom of the hill, a white gleam, and something about its architecture that she wished to share with me. That was all. That, and she seemed to be at peace.

Beth, Dreams such as the one you write about give us faith and confidence.....faith that God is always with us....faith in knowing that this is not the end, that when we die we go on...confidence in knowing...simply experiencing this dream ....with your mother...ah, your mother..this incredibly kind soul continues to touch lives. She is an angel.
It sounds like you have your mom on your mind a lot lately. I think the lecture series is such a beautiful way to honor her.
I saw the Ken Burns book about National Parks when I was out yesterday, and your family immediately came to my mind!
What a comforting dream.
I like this picture so much. The coats and the feeling of season and how I can tell from their faces that they are your parents.
I agree -- comforting dream.
We have the first two shows on the DVR -- tonight's viewing pleasure.
Your mom is so beautiful.
That's a lovely dream.
"something about its architecture that she wanted to show to me ..."
Perhaps, maybe, the architecture is her way of acknowledging what you and your family are building (the scholarship) as her legacy, and that she is showing you that she sees that. And the green - perhaps a reference to the national parks... ?
a gift.
and deserved.
peace~
Chuck
