The rain has was melting the leaves from the trees; at the height of storm, I went out foraging for color.

Just beautiful! I love the fall colors.
Wow . . .
It looks like you found it too. I love the picture.
Beautiful! Technical question: how do you protect your camera in the rain? I'm always so tempted to take pix in the rain, but worry about ruining the camera.
You found it! Those little splashes of color are gorgeous against that background. We sat in the downpour this morning, with the color of soccer jerseys running back and forth across the field in front of us! :-)
Beautiful and I'm also interested in the question about protecting your camera.
It must be magical to live where you live.
Enjoy the moody weather...

I love the color saturation when it rains, especially where I am in the desert. Your picture is beautiful.
Thank you all for your comments (and for enduring all this rain with me!!) and as for the answer to your question, Kristen. I walk with the camera secure under my coat, then take it out briefly, for the photos, then secure it again. I am told that that kind of exposure won't hurt the camera—those quick bursts—and I choose to trust the advice. So far it's been okay.
Gorgeous! Such a pretty view.
