... the first full page of a new novel.

I had not started on something utterly new in at least three years.

I was afraid I had forgotten how.

A first page is a stake in the ground, is all.

A first page says anything is still possible.

Me too! I finished the first page yesterday. I like the optimistic view, that there are a lot of possibilities after a first page. And yet my attitude right now is "Oh no, what have I gotten myself into?" ;-)

Oh I love that have started something new because that means I will have something new of yours to look forward to reading.

I am just trying to sink back into something barely started, almost new, like seedlings coming up perhaps too early.
