I Wanted
I wanted the whole moonwhite where it is, blue how it falls.
I wanted the earth, collapsing and folding.
I wanted the ocean to riseand unberth us.
I wanted the loudest thingin the morning lightto be my heart, still beating.
The short breakin a long poem.
The glass to stopbreaking.

oh Beth....this is lovely. I was expected one thing and then, when I got to the end, I sucked in a breath in surprise.
You set mood with so few words. I want to learn how to do that. How to be less wordy and more mood inspiring.
Thank you for sharing this.
